To begin with Jill Shulze is a student at sunridge and has a passion for swimming . She likes cats and has a big fear of the dark . Also when Jill gets older she wants to write a book and publish it she wishes to become a famous author someday.
As time passed I asked Jill how have she improved from last year to this year. She said she has improved by focusing on the whole stroke instead of focusing on little parts at a time so that she will improve more and more as she works on it. I asked about her favorite swimming stroke and she said it is the back stroke because it is the first stroke she ever learned at the age of three. A back stroke is a stroke performed on the back with the arms lifted alternately out of the water in a backward circular motion and the legs extended and kicking. Jill said she started swimming at a very young age and she stated It runs in her blood so her parents got her started in swimming and she just fell in love with it. Her brother and sisters all swim so she wants to try to keep it in the family from generation to generation.
Later she said she is going to try her hardest at practice and definitely go to bed earlier so that she will be all rested up for her next practice or meet. I also wanted to know if she helps her fellow swimmers out or do you just let the coaches help with that, and she responded with a yes she does help all the swimmers out by watching each other's strokes and pointing out what they have done good and what they need to work on also she watches their forms for their dives and points out the right and wrong to get better. I asked her what does success in the pool look like to you she said it's not all about the speed but pushing yourself to your limits and having a beautiful stroke.

Some things she does to deal with the pressure at swim meets is she goes to the warm up pool to calm herself down and for a quick stretch or she will play cards and color with her swim buddies to relieve the stress. Jill practices for 2 hours a day in the summer and for about 10 hours a week plus she teaches the ‘fishies’, little kids that are just learning how to swim.
In all Jill Schulze is a very excellent swimmer even though she says swimming is more like a hobby then a career for her. It does take most of her time up, but it's something she loves to do in her free time and just for fun. She said she will keep swimming till the end of high school then go and start off with a career.
