Mrs.Harnden the science teacher at Sunridge Middle School. I interviewed her to learn more about what she does for her job because science is a fascinating fun subject and I would like to know more about how she does it. I asked her how does science excite her? She said that science is exciting because there's always something new about it.I also asked what her favorite thing is about it and she said “that you get to play with toys.” So I thought if thats her favorite thing about it then what does she dislike about it. So I asked her and she stated that there is never enough time for anything. Those are just a few of the questions I asked her.
As I was interviewing her in her classroom I thought I would ask about all the technology that is used in her classroom. She said that she uses as much as she can. She was the first one in the building to start using a lot of technology , like the projector.I asked where did she go to college at to get her teaching degree and how long did she go there for she went to Western Oregon University, for about 5 years. I asked her how she motivates her kids in class to do their work and she said that she bribes them. Mrs. Harnden's teaching philosophy is that she tries anything once, and twice if it works.
I asked her what are her goals for the next five years and she said “to be the best science teacher I can be.” I asked her if there was another job she was interested in before teaching and she said it was nursing because it sounded like a good job.One way she handles the stress and pressure of her job she likes to drink diet coke. Mrs Harnden is a really good science teacher, and her kids like her techniques of how she uses hands-on projects which helps them learn better in my perspective.
I learned that the job you were planning on doing can always change into a different job that you love just as well and you can find other jobs you had no clue you would end up doing and have an amazing career. Science will help me a lot through high school and could be a career in mind in the future.
