Nurse that Loves Her Job

Teresa Wilson, labor and delivery nurse for five and a half years at our local hospital, St. Anthony’s. Teresa is currently working at not only St. Anthony’s hospital, but has also been working at Hermiston’s local hospital Good Shepherd Health Care Systems. For four out of the five years she has worked at St. Anthony’s. She said that she is in the medical field because she has always loved to help people and with this job, she can do exactly that.
First, she finished high school and searched for colleges in the area that she wouldn’t mind attending. She had already done four classes that went with her prerequisites so she decided to attend Blue Mountain Community College in the fall. She decided this because she wanted to stay close to home and also it offered her the same educational degree with less of a cost than most colleges. After she had her first year at BMCC completed, she went and applied for the nursing program which consisted of another two years of schooling. Once she graduated with her associates degree from the nursing program she took more classes and had finished off with her bachelor’s degree.
No doubt, that she loves her job and wouldn’t trade it for anything different, or even better. When I had asked Teresa If she would give up the job she has right now as a nurse for something better she had replied almost instantly with a no because she has the exact job that she wants. According to her she sees herself in the same position as a labor and delivery nurse maybe at a different location in seven to ten years. She also says that she loves her job because she gets to help people by bringing a new life into the world, and it couldn’t make her happier.
Lastly, I have learned that with hard work and determination you can achieve your goals no matter what they are. The main reason I had made the decision on interviewing one of my two aunts that are nurses is because she is in the medical field, and that is something I have always planned on doing.
