What are some tips you would give me if I were going to have this job? “Get to like coffee.”You have to be willing to except that everyone thinks they can do your job better than you.” What got you to this job? “I always wanted to be a teacher because my dad inspired me. It was also something I enjoyed and something I had success in”, Andy Cary, a student choir teacher, said. On Friday, December 5th, I had interviewed Andy Cary about how his job is going and how he had got to where he is now. I decided to do an interview on Andy Cary because I think he is great at what he is doing and it would be really fun to do what he does.
Do you love what you do? “I do because I feel like i’m giving back something”. Whats your favorite part of your job? Seeing students grow in their improvement. Andy Cary answered. As we went on with the interview I asked him, is there anything outside of your work that helps you with your job? He said, “Yes there is. The opportunity to perform helps me learn the good things to teach and getting help from other teachers helps me".
Towards the end of the interview I asked Andy three more questions about the things that are wrong with his job. Is there a part of your job that you don’t like? “Yeah I just never have been a morning person because I function better at night", he explained. How do you want to improve your work? “I have way too much to improve and to many decisions to make. One thing Andy said he doesn’t like that happens in his classes is that when people won't stop talking it frustrates him. He wants better division between being social and doing work.
When we were getting towards the end I asked him If there is something that you would want to do instead of what you do now, what would it be? Andy said he would be performing more than he does now. In the end I learned that there is a lot of patience and requirements for this job that you need to have.
