Loop Bows

A loop bow is a type of bow that is basically created by making a bunch of loops and holding them together. Loop Bows are perfect for the winter season and Christmas to add flair to otherwise ordinary objects. I made these bows similar to this with Liz Woodiwiss for the Christmas tree at the Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon. Because I had so much fun making these, I decided to share them.

For this craft, you will need wired ribbon and craft wire. These can be found near the sewing section in Walmart

  1. First, start by making a loop leaving the tail the desired length.
  2. Keep on making loops the same size, until the bow is full, yet you still have enough ribbon to create the second tail.
  3. Wrap craft wire around the center of the bow.
  4. Fan out the loops.
  5. After you have a bow or something that resembled a bow, you can cut the tips of the tails to make any kind of point.

Since I have had practice before, the bows I now made turned out great, although at first they were quite atrocious. Enjoy!
