Sunridge Middle School's Star Basketball Players

On Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Sunridge Middle school the girls seventh grade basketball “A” team played against La Grande. It was a very close game between the two teams with the final score being 34 to 29 and Pendleton took the win. The game started off with our girls a few points behind which had them feeling both agitated and discouraged. Thankfully, the ending score had the girls feeling both excited and relieved for being able to pull through such a challenging game.
It was an intense game with the two teams only a few points apart, teeter tottering back and forth for the lead. Although, La Grande’s offense was great, Pendleton’s defence was impeccable with few to no errors. It was like any other game with each of the team’s scoring here and there. At one point in the game the opposing team started scoring points left and right resulting with them in the lead and only five minutes left in the game. They weren’t scoring anymore, but neither was Pendleton.
Finally, Pendleton had taken the lead with the score of 31-29. There was five seconds left on the clock when La Grande’s point guard took the ball and shot it from the three point line, the ball bounced and circled on the rim a few times before falling over the side and not in the basket. All of Pendleton’s supporting parents and fans let out a breath that they hadn’t realized they were holding and cheered for their inspiring players that had pulled through winning and playing the game they know and love. All in all, I thought that it was a very good game, it definitely had your adrenaline pumping. If you have the time of day, I recommend you to go and watch these star basketball players, for they have a good season ahead of them.
