You may not know me personally, but I bet you have seen me in the halls once or twice. I’m pretty tall, almost six feet tall. You may think that being tall isn’t very fun but I absolutely love it. I have lived in Pendleton, Oregon my whole life and for now plan on staying in Pendleton. I will be 14 years old on October 6. I’m the youngest out of a family of five, with two older brothers, Bobby and Jared. I am Kayla, and I’m on the Publications Staff this year!
One hobby I love to do is read, especially when the book is a mystery or action. I also adore animals and want to go to college to be a veterinarian preferably for large animals such as horses, cows, etc. I enjoy playing Volleyball and Softball, but Volleyball is my all time favorite! The outdoors have been a big part in my life for a long time. I’ve loved hunting my whole life and have been in some way involved in hunting since before I was born. I am also being taught by my father, Robert Fossek, on the basics of taxidermy and often help in some ways with his taxidermy business, Edge of the Wild. When people are successful hunters they come to my dad and he mounts the animal so they can remember the hunt. Really it's like taking an animal and making a “statue” of it or many people think of them as trophies.
Lastly, something I think I will be able to bring to the Publications class is my Photography skills. Often when I go hunting I will take pictures of the sunset, pine trees and wild horses. I can get pretty creative when it comes to my pictures. I may be quiet but, one picture is worth a thousand words!
