Finding a good book can often be very difficult. How do I know this? Over time, I have read hundreds of books. And over those hundreds of books, I have discovered that what genre you are reading is very important. Genre is what categorizes books, music, movies, etc. Fiction and nonfiction are the two major genres. Fiction is fantasy, or things that didn't really happen with imaginary people or events; nonfiction is often historical and always true.
Another way to go about choosing a book is to consider the level of difficulty. This could be by the age group designated to a book. Difficulty is also the size of the book. If you’re a teenager, you might not want to get a book for an adult or a book for a child, you want to get a book for a young-adult. Depending on your comprehension level, you may need a more simple book, or a more complicated book.
The internet is a very helpful tool for when you’re trying to find a book. On the internet, you can find several reviews for a book. Reviews can be found on blogs and review sites. You can also look at blogs and such to see what other people your age are reading, because recommendations are like gold. People like you are always reading interesting books. My personal favorites are “Eleanor and Park” by Rainbow Rowell and also the “Christy Miller” series, by Robin Jones Gunn.
If you and your friends like the same books, you can give and take recommendations to and from each other. Friends are also a good source for borrowing books.
Books are always being made into movies. On the app iBooks, they have a section there that has a list of all the books being made into movies in the near future. Several classic books have also been made into a movies.
Many books can be found for free on the app iBooks or Amazon. Another is Wattpad, an app that has novels and novellas written by people who use Wattpad. You can also purchase books on iBooks and Amazon. No matter what though, the best place to find the perfect book is the library.
The library has thousands upon thousands of books, fitting into so many categories. At the library, they organize them by the recommended age group to read the book. But best of all, the books at the library are free for you to read. It’s important to find a book you would actually enjoy. Have fun, good luck, and happy hunting.
