Gigantic field, sprint, shoot, dribble, these are just some of the things that you will have to know before you start training for soccer. When you start training/getting in shape the first thing that you need is proper attire; you don’t want to be overdressed or underdressed when you are exercising. The other thing that is very important while getting in shape for soccer is time. Lastly training, I think training is one of the most important because without training you would be all over the field without organization.
For proper attire I wear shorts and a loose fitting t-shirt, but I will put on a sweatshirt when it gets colder. When jogging you will need comfortable running shoes so your feet do not feel sore after. While practicing soccer you will need cleats,shin guards, and soccer socks. I perfore wearing cleats while practicing so you have better grip and because you will be wearing that attire in your games.
The other very important factor is time when you are getting in shape. When I say time I’m talking about how long you can jog or how fast your sprints are. When you know how long it takes to do a two mile run then when you do a two mile run again you know if you have improved or not. When you are vigorously running you will also want to time it to see how much you get done in that amount of time. When I talk about vigorous running I’m talking about sprinting on a hill or small portion of grass.
The last thing that I want to talk about is training. When doing training you first need to figure out what you need to improve on because there is always room to improve. When you are doing training the things that I like to concentrate on are skills, drills, and shooting. When working on skills you are working on your tricks, passing, and trapping. Then drills such as where to move on the field, or where to place the ball. Lastly you will want to practice shooting especially if you are going to be on the offencive. When shooting you want to work on power, aim, form.
Before you start playing soccer consider these things while getting in shape. Getting in shape is very important because soccer is 90% running. When you are getting in shape and you follow these few steps you will be in shape and ready for soccer.
