I discovered Jammy Dodgers, a type of British biscuit, through the television series Doctor Who this last 2014 summer. Throughout the season of the show, you would hear The Doctor talk about them, whether he was asking the president for one, or he was pretending the biscuit was a self destruct button for the TARDIS (The Doctor's space and time machine). However, it did not come to my mind to make them until now. I believe the fall is a perfect time for a Doctor Who party, and you need refreshments at parties. So, I present to you: the recipe for Jammy Dodgers.
Things you need:
1 cup flour
½ cups sugar
½ cups butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
4 tbsp raspberry jam
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit (190 degrees celsius). Slightly mix the flour, sugar, and butter together, until they resemble bread crumbs in a way (a food processor could be used to do it too). Next add the eggs and bring the mixture together to form a dough.
2. Using a spoon, make dough balls with a width of ½ inch. Place them on cookie sheet, each 2 inches apart.
3. Make a small indentation in the middle of each slice with your them, and drop a tsp of jam in the center. Bake for 10-15 minutes until slightly risen and just golden. Cool on a wire rack.
