The Day for Cake Lovers

The day for true caker lovers. March 28th is National Black Forest Cake Day.  This cake was named after the black forest in Germany and features a main crop cherries. The first black forest cake was made in 1915 by Josef Keller.

This day is important because it provides the ability to enjoy a not so healthy treat. So when eating cake on this day don't feel bad if you eat too much because its only once a year. The cake consists of many layers of chocolate cake, cherries and whipped cream. True black forest cake is made with black cherries.
The chocolate used in black forest cake was firstly made in the 16th century. In many other countries the cake contains liquor but in America it does not. The reason I chose this day is because I like this cake. So if you haven't tried this cake then on march 28th you should give it a try.
