May 4th is a very important day to remember, why? Because it’s National Orange Juice Day. Orange juice is a very important fruit drink that helps you keep up on your vitamin C. Even though it is a healthy drink, it’s very popular and pretty tasty. National Orange Juice Day is not one of the main holidays like, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Easter but it’s still an important National holiday that you should remember.
The reason I chose to do this day is, because it’s necessary that you get enough vitamin C in your body every day. Some important things that the vitamin C from orange juice does for us is, help make collagen. Collagen is a protein that helps your body form things like, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, skin, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also helps heal wounds, and repair and maintain your bones and teeth. Even if you aren’t as thirsty as you are hungry, you could always snack on an orange and still get the right nutrients from it that is recommended each day. Also, if you are trying to get a child to take their vitamin C, but they refuse to eat an orange or drink the prefered amount of orange juice each day. All you have to do is take some of the yummy juice and put it in the freezer part of the refrigerator and in a few minutes you will have orange popsicles.
If you drink at least one cup of the flavorful orange juice a day, you are getting the right amount of vitamin C in your body that is recommended which is 90 milligrams. It’s important for everyone to get the right amount of vitamin C in their daily lives, and that’s why in my opinion that you should remember the important day of May fourth which is National Orange Juice Day.
