A Day To Gain A Few Pounds

I chose national doughnut day.. honestly because I think doughnuts are delicious. There is not one day I’m not craving a doughnut.. just a plain chocolate doughnut always sounds good to me. National doughnut day is on the first Friday of June or June 5th this year. This day was created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the people who served donuts to soldiers during World War 1. The women volunteers from the salvation army who traveled to france in 1928 to support US soldiers became known as doughnut dollies.
National  doughnut day is the day which is celebrating a usually round shape piece of dough that is fried and sweetened with topping. There is so many different kinds of doughnuts most favorites are chocolate, glazed, or maple. There Are even Some famous doughnut shops like voodoo doughnut and krispy Kreme. Chris Parry from the ‘Vancouver Sun’ once noted in a column that some canadians are envious of the US holiday but some canadian locations do participate in this holiday. There are also three other doughnut holidays, International jelly filled doughnut day: june 8th , national cream filled doughnut day : celebrated on september 14th and buy a doughnut day is the day before halloween.
I believe this day is important because its not just a day about eating doughnuts its about giving and sharing doughnuts together. It is an important day because it makes people happy. And it has been celebrated for many many decades and even though I didn't know about This holiday till about last week It needs to be carried on for many centuries to come.
Now this year on doughnut day you can not only eat some doughnuts until your belly feels like it's thanksgiving But you can give doughnuts to the needy, people who have served in the war or even your loved ones. Who knows you may even get a free doughnut on this holiday that will make your day.. or at least mine.
