Sometimes known as a man's best friend, dogs are very trustworthy pets to have and have always been there to help us. This is why there is a national holiday for not just one type of dog but all because each breed has helped us in one way or another. From just being an accessory to saving lives all dogs deserve some kind of award.
I love this holiday because it reminds us just how lucky we are to have a dog. I have had many dogs throughout my life but one has stuck with me and his name is boe. Boe may not have a life saving heart warming story behind him but he will always have a place in my heart. Dogs have saved people from burning buildings, became seeing dogs to help the blind, track, hunt, and so much more. Many dogs are known for the heroic acts such as saving children from snakes, saving drowning victims, or even saving other animals. People might just say that it's in their genes. Some known heroic dogs are Moti, Maya, and Honey. Moti took a bullet for his owner when an intruder broke in. Maya protected her owner from a male attacker. And lastly Honey went and found help when her owner got in a car crash.
These are just some of the many dogs that have helped us out. So many dogs go without love. They are abused, tortured, and even starved. So next time when August 26th comes around be sure to praise your dog in some way to show you love them because they deserve it.
