Dandelions and Flowers

Pick a student for each cast member and the teacher will be the narrator.

Cast:

• Jenny-
• Big Sis-
• Big Bro-
• Grandma-

Narrator: Jenny walked home from the last day of school and knew her Grandma was going to arrive today to spend the summer with her family. She saw a patch of Dandelions and thought her Grandma would love a bouquet of flowers.

Jenny: (walks in the front door, goes to kitchen table where Grandma, Big Sis, and Big Bro are sitting) “Look Grandma I got you some flowers!” (hands Grandma a handful of Dandelions)

Big Bro/Big Sis: (laughs) “Those aren't flowers! Those are weeds!”

Narrator: Jenny always thought that Dandelions were flowers. She was so embarrassed and sad that she didn't get her Grandma flowers, she ran to her room to cry. Grandma saw how upset she was and followed her.

Grandma: (hugs Jenny) “Don’t listen to them. Those are the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen. Thank you very much.”

Narrator: Jenny realized that it didn't matter what Big Sis and Big Bro thought. The Dandelions were for Grandma, and if she liked them then that was all that mattered.
