The Biggest Problem of the School

You're in the hallway and see your friend being bullied by a mean person, what do you do? Do you stand by as your friend gets bullied or do you stand up to the bully, and help your friend out? One of the biggest problems facing Sunridge students is bullying. You see it everyday, and no one does anything, it's time we stop bullying and help our friends out. A couple possible solutions to stop bullying are, everyone trying to be nice to one another, having the principal intervene in the situation, and last have the counselors and teachers help in some way.
Having everyone try to be nice to each other could help immensely, because most people would be try to be nice and eliminate loads of problems. To begin with bullying is a big problem because kids feelings are hurt, it can cause some people to be depressed. Ultimately it can make people feel very bad, and in extreme cases, make kids get therapy. Having everyone trying to be nice to each other could fix many problems, and if any altercation happens you could have the principal intervene. Katie A sixth grader at sunridge middle school says, everyone should “Be nice to each other, and that could help stop bullying”.
Having the teachers and counselors stand out in the hallway and make sure kids are being nice to each other. Bullying often happens in the hallways and during class , at both of these times no one is likely to see you get bullied. Having teachers stand out in the hallways could help stop bullying, because they would be able to see who gets bullied and punish them. Carlos an eighth grade student says, " The principal could help with the situation some way and that the parents could help too."

In all bullying is a big problem. Its a big problem because it can cause kids to feel very depressed and very upset. It can cause suicide in some serious cases, it can cause people to seek out therapy and, it can permanently mess them up. Ty a sixth grader at sunridge middle school was asked what the biggest problem at sunridge was and After only being here a year he said" Bullying". As you can see the kids that haven't been here that long, can already see that bullying is a big problem. Now that you have heard the problem and some solutions, I challenge you to be nicer to each other. If you have trouble doing that think of the golden rule, treat others how you want to be treated. Have teachers monitor the hallways, and have the counselors step up their game, and the principal intervene if necessary. If we all try to do this and come together we could make SMS a better place.
