Teens and Smoking.

It’s hard to believe but each day 3,900 teenagers smoke their first cigarette. Approximately 6 million adolescents are smokers in the United States knowing that it causes diseases and is addictive. Out of the 3,000 teens who started smoking today, about 1,000 of them will eventually die as a result from smoking before the age seventy. One out of five teenagers who smoke are smoking thirteen to fifteen cigarettes a day.  A survey found that 69.4 percent of teenage smokers reported never being asked for proof of age when buying cigarettes in a store. The same survey found that 62.4 percent were allowed to buy them even if the cashier was aware they were under eighteen. More than 440,000 deaths happen each year from smoking.

I honestly don't get why people smoke, its harmful to our body and everyone knows that yet they still do it. Smoking at a young age causes your lungs to not function properly when turning into adulthood. Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke and multiple lung diseases like, emphysema,  chronic airway obstruction and bronchitis. We all get that many people die each year from smoking that we don't even know. But think of this if your loved one such as your peers, mom or dad, aunts and uncles, grandma, grandpa, sisters or brothers if they smoke and they died and you didn't do anything to stop it how would you feel? You can either stop it or encourage it, you choose.
