Christmas sugar cookies are a great dessert for the most wonderful time of the year. I chose this recipe because many people like sugar cookies. It’s also a simple, not too extreme dessert to make. The decorating part of making this recipe is fun because you can design them in different shapes. Some shapes such as Christmas trees, candy canes, snowflakes, and many more.
Ingredients:
- 1-¾ cups and 2 tablespoons all- purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup margarine, softened
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Sit flour, baking soda, and salt together, set aside.
2. In a large bowl cream together the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy, beat in eggs one at a time then stir in the vanilla
3. Gradually blend in the sifted ingredients until fully absorbed
4. Cover dough and chill for two hours
5. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and grease cookie sheets
6. Cut shapes into cookie cutters
I chose this recipe because it's a classic simple dessert to make. All different age groups like this treat and almost anyone can make it. It is also a fun way to spend time with family and friends. This recipe is great for parties and other events during Christmas time.
