Memories Being Made

You’d never know one building could start and hold millions of memories belonging to so many different kids. One of those kids is me and one of those millions of memories is from my 8th grade year at Sunridge Middle School. Like every year before us, we were able to go on the East Coast Tour during Spring Break.  We were all ecstatic and could barely wait for the week that we had heard would be one of our favorite weeks ever. It all started with raising money and deciding our roommates. Then talking with our friends about what to bring and what to wear for certain days. Finally the day came to take off to Washington D.C. and we were all so happy. Those next seven days came and went faster than ever because we were all having so much fun.  We visited Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland all in just a short amount of time. New York, my favorite state that we were in, consisted of the Lion King on Broadway, the Statue of Liberty, Planet Hollywood, and Ground Zero. In the other states, it varied from looking at Monuments, going through museums, and touring houses.
Overall, taking a trip back to the east coast changed my perspective on life a little. I have seen many historic figures that have gone through their life changing U.S history forever. I hope to make an impact somewhere I go like the high school and leave a good impression.  I also hope to visit the east coast again some day, to recap one of my favorite memories from eighth grade.
On the flip side of it all, looking ahead in my life, I have to face the challenging fact of moving up to the big high school. The place where all the talk seems to be and where your nine years of elementary and middle school years seem to come together and meet just for those four years of high school to prepare for college. I look forward to playing sports and being involved in lots of the school activities at the high school. I also look forward to the so called “more freedom” that everyone seems to say you’ll get and getting my license and cruising around town with my friends. I look forward to spending my next four years with my classmates and peers that I will see at our reunions when I’m an adult and living on my own. The next four years of high school seem like they'll be the biggest in my life and I can’t wait to see what it will bring my way.
