If you're having trouble in school because you’re finding yourself having to look through all your papers to find one assignment or having everything fall out of your binder or even not being able to remember to do your homework, I’m here to give you some tips to help.
The first step to being organized in school is your binder. It is helpful to have dividers or folders in your binder for each class and it helps to have one folder (or section) for your day’s homework so it is all in one spot and easy to find. It also is good to have things like pencil pouches for your other small belongings such as scissors, extra lead, pencils, erasers, etc. You can customize your binder the way that fits you best and keeps you most organized . I personally find it easiest to add paper in the back of your binder so you can pull it out whenever you need it for a class.
The second step to being organized in school is your locker and backpack.
In your locker it helps to have little things such as a magnetic pencil holder or other little things that will help you out. Keeping your books organized can be challenging. I suggest having them in class order. It also helps to have a foldable shelf in your locker so you can have your books on one half and your backpack and other things on the other half. To keep your backpack organized you could have certain spots or pockets for certain things, such as a pocket for pencils, a pocket for things you may need after school, etc. Keeping your books or binder in one spot might be easiest for you so that you can just pull them out when school starts. I recommend cleaning your backpack and locker out often.
The third step to staying organized in school is your schoolwork. One of the best ways to keep your schoolwork organized is to keep each class together in a group and having your assignments by date or by what is most important. You may want to keep what you use most in that class in the front so that you can get to it easily. It helps to keep your homework in the front so you remember to do it when you get home and also so when the teacher collects it you can have it at ease. You can even have sticky notes to remember to do your work and stick it on your the front of your binder. Make sure to go through your schoolwork and sort it often so that you can get rid of anything you don’t need anymore for your classes
Keeping organized in school used to be challenging for me in elementary school, but by following these tips really helped me to stay organized so I don’t get frustrated and can get to everything I need quickly and easily. Personalize these tips so that they fit you best; just take away whatever tips from the article that will help you most.
